On the 5th of January Torrevieja offers you the parade of the 3 Kings (Cabalgata de los Reyes).
During Carnival, dressed up street musicians walk through the streets, inviting everybody do join them in hours of music, dance and fun.
During the holy week (Semana Santa), the week before Easter, lots of religious brotherhoods carry the sculptures of Christ through the streets
During the May Festival (Feria de Mayo), held at the beginning of the month, Torrevieja enjoys a week of festvities Andalusian style. In the harbour between the many stands of food people gather in traditional Andalusian dance costumes, or Sevillianas. And to complete the atmosphere there are horses, carriages and lots of andalusian wine.
During the first two weeks of May we have the election of the Queen of Fire, and in May/June the crowning of the Queen of the Holy Heart of Jesus
The Fiesta’s of the Holy Heart, in June, have fireworks of the children, markets en live music.
The city also celebrates the burning of San Juan by the eastern part of Spain. "Hogueras de San Juan" is a celebration with a very high artistic value.
the celebration of the fishermen is being celebrated on July 16th, when their brotherhood organizes several events, sports, cultural and religion, to honour the Virgen del Carmen, who's statue is being carried from the fishing wharf, loaded on a boat and sailed around the bay escorted by loads of other boats
The parade of the Salt Queen is on the 15the of August.
During the first week of October, there are the celebrations for the Virgen Del Rosario, en Torrelamata.
The celebrations for the Holy Virgen, are held form the first to the 17th of December. The highlight of these celebrations is the procession on the night of the 8th of December.
As Cultural activities we have the International Habaneras en Polyphony contest held each year between the end of July and the beginning of August. Here you will find the best Spanish en international groups and choirs together.
In springtime there is the book fair.
To honour the Holy Cecilia, the godmother of musicians, there are several music festivals in November.
During the year you can enjoy several concerts in the auditorium of the Palacio de la Música.
